Jewelry Tree Update

This past weekend, I posted about DIY Jewelry Trees.  DIY fail for me has now turned into a DIY treat for my lia sophia parties! I told you I would find a way to use these suckers!

I was getting ready for a show I am doing later this week, and it hit me - I should make a "Giving Tree"! Come to a party, and you walk away with something... the best is, your guests will choose what they walk away with by taking a tag from one of the trees!

What do you think? A hit or fail?

lia sophia Starter Kit | Spring/Summer 2011

Many of you have been waiting to see what lia sophia includes in the updated Starter Kit, which is now available for those that would like to launch their own career with lia sophia.

The Starter Kit is now available for $149.00, and this includes over $1,000 in jewelry from the new spring/summer line, as well as everything you will need for your first 4-6 shows. See the images below for all of the contents in the new kit. 

Two of the most frequently asked questions I get when talking with ladies who are considering joining a lia sophia team are: 1) Is the Starter Kit actually all mine and what happens to it if I decide later on that I no longer want to sell lia sophia, and 2) Do I need to do so many shows per month or meet a sales quota?

To answer those questions, first, the Starter Kit will always be yours, however, I doubt you would ever decide not to sell lia sophia. It is such a fun way to earn extra income, plus, all of the jewelry is yours. It is completely awesome that you can add to your jewelry with a 70% discount as an advisor with lia sophia. Plus, along the way, if you meet certain monthly goals (company wide and unit wide) you can earn completely FREE jewelry.

Secondly, there is not a sales quota with lia sophia. You must submit one qualified show ($250 in jewelry sales) per quarter to remain 'active'. The average show is $600 with lia sophia, so meeting that goal is simple, and with very little effort, you would likely exceed that goal a few times over.

So, what are you waiting for? Now is a great time to jump in and do something new! I can't imagine not having had this opportunity a couple years ago... I have never regretted becoming an advisor, and you won't either!

DIY Jewelry Tree

I love jewelry. I sell jewelry. And, I am always looking for awesome ways to display the jewelry at the home shows I do for lia sophia.

I also have a bit of a problem with my own jewelry collection... there is so much, and it is all stuffed away in a jewelry box that I often forget what I have.

I had run across this blog post from one of my favorite bloggers, Centsational Girl, and have since found these awesome picture of jewlery trees.

The last picture is not a DIY tree (of course it isn't... it is my favorite) but it is available through Red Envelope.

Ian and I were at Target yesterday and they had these paper trees for Easter to hang plastic eggs on in the dollar section ($2.50 ea.). They came in what looked like plant containers that live plants would be in, so I removed them from those, and put them in these composite pots, also in the dollar section (2 for $1.00). I filled the pots with decorative stones I had to hold up the trees.

No, they are not pretty, I am not thrilled with their lack of 'rustic-ness' and how small they are, so I may end up spray painting them... or just finding real 'trees' once the snow thaws.

But, for $6.00, I tried, and they may actually work this spring to display some of my jewelry at shows.

If not, I know a soon to-be-teenager who could hang her baubles on them.

Yes, you read that right. Booker hookers. That is what we, awesome lia sophia advisors, call these beautiful pieces of jewelry.

You see, I have all of these pieces on my trays right now to show during my jewelry parties. But, in two very short months, all of these pieces will be retired. :: GASP ::  That means, I can no longer use them during my shows, because they will not be available for purchase through lia sophia after retirement.

But, here is the GREAT news! When the new lia sophia Spring/Summer 2010 collection came out, I felt like I needed to add some pieces with more color to my trays for my home shows. Which is hard for me. Color scares me. 

Color, I did add, and now I am having a diffifult time finding clothes that match my jewelry. It is so much easier to incorporate color in the spring and summer. My daughter and I have been on numerous shopping trips lately on a quest for more color but everything I pick up is black, grey, white or brown.

I have been dying to wear these pieces together, and even without color in the threads, I pulled it off...

...with this Miley Cyrus Ruffled Black Shirt worn under a black boyfriend sweater. Yes, I purchased something from Walmart to wear on my body, AND it has Miley Cyrus on the tag. Time for you to get over it. The blouse was THREE DOLLARS! BO-NUS!

I now have to figure out how to add this Sedona necklace to the mix. I may have to wait until I find a cute summer maxi dress, which will also likely be in black... or brown... 'cause that is how I roll.

If you are like me, spring cannot get here fast enough! I am excited for more color, less clothes, and the fresh outdoors. Now is the time to spruce up last year's spring wardrobe with some new accessories! And, why not get them for FREE?!

I know, I know... You keep telling yourself that you don't want to host your own show because of any or all of the following:

1. Your friends hate those kinds of parties.
2. You don't want anyone to feel obligated to come to your house and spend money.
