First day

Finally. The long summer is over according to the school calendar.  Matt, who works out of the house, can get some quality work done without worrying about screaming kids, dogs barking at screaming kids, or Phineous & Ferb in the background. And, I can get back to some peaceful sanity.

It was an awesomely long and leisurely summer. Our kids had a blast, but all good things must come to an end... and now we move on to the next chapter. I love fresh starts!

Above is Audrey's first day of 8th grade picture. She was up at the buttcrack of dawn to catch the bus, and her image just couldn't be captured in the dark. (Truth be told, she does leave before I even open my eyes in the morning. So thankful for a girl that likes to eat cereal and watch CMT music videos alone in the morning without being disturbed. CMT? Yep.)

First and fouth graders.

Isaac woke up before 6am this morning, which meant he had 2.5 hours of excitement and longing to just be at school. Oh dear God, please do not allow him to be disruptive due to his lack of sleep.

Don't ask. He loves the "I'm a creeper" look.

It looks as though they walked to school.  Ian made it about this far (one house away) and started crying because Isaac wouldn't help him carry his supply bag. I gladly drove him while Isaac walked.

And, so it begins...

  1. Do you just want to cry knowing how you have made these 3 great people....entering into life....all because of you and Matt. You can just stand back and watch them grow. Life is so beautiful isn't it. Nana
